My name is Kallia Milillo and I am a 21
year old professional photographer. I have
about 8 years in expierence in taking
photographs ranging in style, camera, and
technique. I began taking pictures around 12
years old with a tiny camera I bought with
allowance money at Wal-Mart. It wasn't
until I was about 14 I began working with
an SLR camera by borrowing one of my
friend's Nikon SLR camera. I began taking tons of photographs where ever I went, or I would always be in my own world concepting images in my head. I would notice a spot, completely stop what I was doing, study the area, and imagine producing my ideal image. After borrowing my friend's Nikon, my passion for photography sky rocketed to another level. In the 10th grade, I began taking an introduction to art class which began my path a solid foundation towards being both a photographer and artist. Through the following years, I began developing my drawing skills, painting skills, writing ability, and my photography skills. I began my first course using a pinehole camera I made myself out of a box. I used light sensitive paper inside my pinehole camera, developed the paper, and made postive images. After completely pinehole photography, I then moved on to using 35mm fim. These were the years that changed my life. I fell in love with black and white film images and spending a great deal of time in the darkroom. I began to see the world entirely different and learned to express myself in a way I couldn't ever before. I searched for Art schools in Georgia after highschool, but I didn't find anything that felt right. I started my college career at Georgia State University. I started off with a major in Art, but always had a huge desire to combine my Art major with Marketing. I decided to take an FLC (Freshmen Learning Community) to help broaden my mind and descion. My first year, I was mainly taking Religious/Anthropology corses. This had a huge contributing factor on my life. I was in love yet again, but I knew I still wanted to do photography. The following summer. I found The Creative Circus which was a trade school with a Marketing combonation with Photography. I have completed 2 quarters thus far. In August 2011, I decided to leave Atlanta in search for growth, new people, and new expierences. I am now enjoying my fresh start in Portland, Oregon. Ultimately, I want to work besides an Anthropologist, Archeologist, Scientist, or producing work where my photography will help bring social awareness and help people around the world.
